Event description

Description

The Department for International Development, in collaboration with the UK SRHR Network, is delighted to invite you to an event exploring critical women’s rights issues that are often ignored and underfunded.

Join Baroness Sugg, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, for an important discussion about the fundamental issues affecting women’s bodies today - from abortion to gender identity, FGM/C, and menstruation - driven by norms, stigma, shame and power.

The event aims to provide Women Deliver participants the opportunity to explore, with high-level policy makers, practitioners and advocates, the most excluded issues of the ICPD agenda, and to discuss solutions and strategies to drive progress and empowerment.

Speakers Include:

Baroness Sugg, Parliamentary Under- Secretary of State, UK Government
Jonathan Wittenberg, Guttmacher Institute
Dr Carole Sekimpi, Marie Stopes Uganda
Abhina Aher, India HIV/AIDS Alliance
Florence Kwamboke Akara, Femme International
Luciana Brito, Anis
Donya Nasser, Youth Advocate, IPPF
