About this event
Ring Making Workshop
Wax Carving Jewellery Workshop
This is a relaxed, hands-on 3-hour workshop where you’ll design and carve your own unique ring or pendant using jeweller’s wax. No experience is needed – just a bit of curiosity, creativity, and a love for shiny things! This event will be hosted by Harriet, owner, designer and creator of Honey Coast Studio.
Wax carving is an ancient jewellery-making technique that offers complete creative freedom. I’ll guide you through key techniques, show you how to use the tools safely and effectively, and explain the different stages your piece will go through as it takes shape. Whether you're drawn to bold forms, fine detail, or organic textures, you’ll be supported in bringing your ideas to life.
By the end of the session, you’ll have created your finished wax design, ready for casting. After the workshop, I’ll either send your piece off to be professionally cast using the lost wax casting method – which captures every fine detail – or I’ll cast it myself in my studio using the sandcasting method, which results in a beautifully organic, textured finish. All will be cast in 100% recycled Sterling Silver with the option to add Gold Vermeil at an additional cost if you are a gold girlie.
Once cast, I’ll take care of all the finishing and polishing before posting your unique piece of jewellery to its new home.
You’ll come away with a one-of-a-kind piece – designed and made by you – using one of the oldest and most rewarding techniques in jewellery making.
If you’ve ever wanted to make your own jewellery or just fancy a few creative hours, this workshop is for you.
