Event Details

Aim of this course

To give the knowledge and skills required to interpret basic paediatric ECGs and to recognise abnormal Paediatric ECGs promptly with confidence.

By the end of this course, delegates will be able to differentiate between normal and abnormal Paediatric ECGs within 5 mins and will be able discuss appropriate management.

Who is this course intended for?

All grades of paediatric trainees, paediatric consultants, SAS doctors, A&E trainees and consultants, GPs and GP trainees, speciality nurses and paramedics

Course overview

Introduction to 12lead ECG interpretation including basic electrophysiology, how to record an ECG, pattern recognition, abnormal rhythms, neonatal ECGs, conduction problems and miscellaneous ECGs; delivered through mixture of lecture based teaching, highly interactive group works and workshops by experienced faculties with strong track record. The sessions will be problem based and clinically oriented with top tips on quick ECG interpretation and management.

10:45–11:30 ECG interpretation practical session
11:30–12:00 Neonatal ECGs: what's normal and what's abnormal and how do deal with them? - Dr Deri
