Rise and Design: Succeeding in a Global Pandemic

About this Event

It's been a long three months, and difficult for many, but there are some amazing success stories too.

So we'll be hearing from businesses who've adapted, shifted focus and, to use a much hated but appropriate term, pivoted.

They'll be telling us about the various journeys they've been on, what they've learned on the way, and perhaps even how their business is now in better shape.

So come along, be inspired and make some new contacts

Speakers include -

Mark Catchlove, Herman Miller. Working From Home We know that working from home isn't the normal set-up for most. We need to help everyone stay connected, focused, and engaged as they work remotely and stay safe during the global coronavirus crisis. In this seminar, Mark will share ideas & inspiration for managing remote teams, how to practice self-care and reduce stress

Chris Nutman, My Cloud Coach

Since giving a pitch at a Rise and Design last year, Chris has been working with some of the best design brains around to develop his solar powered projector. Initially for use in the developing world to share donated documents and presentations, it's also found application in the UK now that many of us have become teachers to our own families. Chris will give us an update on the product and outline his vision for the future.

Phillip Bell, ART Health Solutions

As a supplier of onsite health, wellbeing and performance data collection services, the COVID-19 pandemic posed quite the conundrum for the business, given there was no-one left in the office to measure! In this short presentation Phill will discuss the considerations and processes they went through in order to pivot their services and navigate this period successfully, ultimately driving their unique business proposition forwards.

Trina Scott-Priestly, SwishForIt

As many more of us are now shopping online for almost everything, there's a danger that the experience becomes almost as stressful as the Metrocentre on Christmas Eve. And with some £5billion of wasted or unwanted items heading to landfill at Christmas alone, there has to be a better way to shop. Which is why Trina has created SwishForIt, allowing you to create lists as you browse, ensuring you, and your friends, only get what they really, really want. Trina will share her story and passion.

Rise and Design lasts for approximately two hours, and includes networking before and after speakers. There is also a chance to pitch at the end of the speakers' presentations. We encourage all delegates to stay after presentations for networking - it is one of the most valuable parts of Rise and Design

Please note: The places at this event are fully funded from ERDF and LGF sources and as such we are required to capture reporting data for our funders on the recipients attending to demonstrate the support and this is reflected in the questions to complete as part of the registration process and eligibility checks will be carried out and you may be contacted prior to the event.
