Design isn’t just about creating great products. Well-designed services can have just as great an impact on almost every aspect of our lives. So this this month we’re joining forces with Service Network to highlight the importance of applying design principles to those intangible processes.
Jayne Purcell, Kirklees Council
Jayne will describe Comoodle, a community sharing programme that has transformed the way the local authority supports the communities in and around Huddersfield, and which was awarded the 1million Euros Bloomberg Mayors Challenge and the DBA Design Effectiveness award.
Nick Devitt, Innovation Scout Ltd
Nick started his career designing compost bins during his four years studying Design for Industry BA Hons at Newcastle Polytechnic.
From 2005 Nick has worked independently and as part of bespoke teams in service design and innovation. His background in product design and digital underpins his current work in service innovation that is predominantly with public services and small businesses.
Rise and Design lasts for approximately three hours, and includes networking before and after speakers. There is a chance to pitch at the end of the speakers' presentations, and you can book a stand for the whole event. We encourage all delegates to stay after presentations for neworking - it is one of the most valuable parts of Rise and Design. For more information, please visit our website
