Rise & Design No.77 - Scandinavian Design
Fri 10 March 2017, 08:30 – 11:30 GMT
Scandinavian design combines functionality, comfort and simplicity with gentleness and clarity of shapes and lines. With the Hygge (hue-gah) trend taking over the UK, and Lagom (described as 'neither too little, nor too much') looking to be the next big scandi craze, scandinavian style is here to stay.
Our speakers will be taking you through their love of scandinavian style, and how it has shaped their business.
Emma Dickinson, BoConcept
Found in 80 countries, BoConcept has taken the great traditions of Danish design to the world's big cities. Emma, Interior Designer at the UK's most successful BoConcept store, will be talking all things Danish design and interiors.
Rob Charlton, SpaceHus
Spacehus is an offsite manufactured home which has no bills, costs £80,000 and is built in 20 days. Using digital modelling and prototyping, the pilot scheme was delivered in Blyth. Rob, CEO at Space Group, will talk through Spacehus and where they will be going next.
Krista Puranen Wilson, KOTA
Krista will be telling us all about KOTA, Newcastle's first Scandinavian design shop! Unique, eco-friendly design products is what they’re all about. They source and carefully edit collections to offer the very best Scandinavian labels.
Rise and Design lasts for approximately three hours, and includes networking before and after speakers. There is a chance to pitch at the end of the speakers' presentations, and you can book a stand for the whole event. We encourage all delegates to stay after presentations for neworking - it is one of the most valuable parts of Rise and Design. For more information, please visit our website
