About this event
- Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes
We warmly invite you to an online introduction to the RISE Toolkit – a new resource designed to support personal and collective ritual creation in the context of death, grief and transition.RISE helps to develop a new ritual culture that draws on the richness of well-established forms and transfers their essence into a contemporary frame. Rooted in personal experience, performative arts and current research, RISE helps individuals and groups create rituals that resonate – with grief, with memory, and with transformation.During this session, we will introduce the background of the project, walk you through the toolkit, and share how we’ve seen it used in end-of-life and bereavement contexts - and beyond. This event is especially for End-of-Life Doulas in the UK who wish to reflect on and deepen the ritual aspects of their practice. However, it is also open for hospice and hospital staff, funeral director, celebrants and others interested in the meaning and function of rituals. The RISE project was developed by Jan S. Möllers, Verena Ries and Anja Franczak, and is a collaboration between memento Kultur:Trauer (Germany) and the Institute of the Good Death (Poland). This info session also serves as a preview: In Spring 2026, we will offer in-person workshops in the UK – and we would love for you to be part of it!
