Yoga classes for relaxing, unwinding and stilling the mind. Rishiculture Ashtanga (Gitananda) Yoga was spread by Dr. Swami Gitananda, who is often called as the Father of Modern Scientific Yoga.
Classes are suitable for all with a theme of Spandha-nishpandha (recognising tension and releasing into non-tension) – starting in a sitting position we bring the mind to the breath (Pranayama) - to focus the mind. We then systematically warm up the body (Jattis) before practising postures/movements (Hathenas, Asanas and Kriyas), before ending with concentration on the breath (Pranayama) once more, to ensure the body and mind are calm before relaxation.
The class finishes at about 7.20pm.
No prior experience / fitness level is required. Please bring some water to drink and a blanket for relaxation.
