Description

Join WeAreTheCity and The Sunday Times to celebrate the achievements of 200 phenomenal women and our champions and company of the year.

Now in their fifth year, the Rising Star Awards are the first to focus on the achievements of women below Senior Management or Director level – representing the female talent pipeline and the next generation of future leaders.

The awards also recognise the efforts of senior leaders who are championing gender equality, as well as putting the spotlight on a “company of the year” that is actively supporting its female talent pipeline above and beyond industry norms.

We are delighted to invite you to celebrate the achievements of these remarkable women who are not only role models for their industries, but who are our future leaders of tomorrow. We do hope you can join us to celebrate their success and toast their achievements.

WeAreTheCity will be announcing their Rising Star winners at a prestigious awards ceremony at the Sheraton Grand Hotel, Park Lane, W1 on 3 July 2019 from 18.00 – 23.45.

The evening will begin with a champagne reception, followed by opportunities to network with over 400 individuals from a multitude of industries. Once seated, our guests will be welcomed by our awards host, Jane Hill from BBC News. As guests, you will enjoy a three-course meal and fine wine especially chosen and prepared by the Sheraton’s award-winning chefs. The awards will take place in between courses.

Throughout the evening you will not only be inspired by our amazing winners, you will also be entertained by 1920’s girl band, Just the Tonic, and soul sensation, Lemar, multi Brit and MOBO award winner and Magic Soul FM DJ. This is a celebration not to be missed!

As an organisation, WeAreTheCity are passionate about paying it forward and helping women in challenging circumstances to succeed. We are very honoured to be working with our charity partner, the Young Women’s Trust for this year’s awards. The Young Women's Trust supports young women aged 18-30, especially those struggling to live on low or no pay, to get into work that is right for them.

“The Times and The Sunday Times are thrilled to once again support this year’s Rising Star Awards. With gender politics and female empowerment dominating our headlines, supporting women in the workplace remains important to our readers, as well as an important strand of the journalism we create. We believe that by raising up those at lower levels, we are creating tomorrow’s leaders and these awards’ help shine a spotlight on the tremendous work being achieved in the female pipeline. We look forward to celebrating the brilliant female talent that this year’s awards will discover.”
