Event description

Description

As we move forward to a more inclusive culture we must acknowledge that there are still some groups who have intangible blockers hindering the opportunity for them to show up as themselves and THRIVE in the workplace. One way to improve this is by encouraging them to uncover and optimise their natural strengths.

Progress has been made in acceleration programmes for women, helping them to navigate some of the typical stumbling blocks in their careers. We call on industry to pay the same attention to BAME talent. We want to see improved identification and nurturing of high potential BAME talent much earlier on. Offering sponsorship, professional career coaching and investing budget to ongoing leadership development plans will help accelerate their progress, readiness for senior roles and offer diverse candidates for the pipeline.

This cross-industry Rising Stars workshop, is aimed at accelerating high potential, junior minority talent within the industry.

The Rising Stars workshop (for up to 12 candidates) accelerates the development of high potential talent from minority groups within the business. By raising awareness on how to maximise natural strengths, the business benefits from a more diverse talent pool who are motivated, energised and able to bring their true self to the workplace.

Research proves that managers who focus on strengths and natural personalities of team member’s benefit from higher engagement, productivity and performance. Similar research tells us that individuals gain more when they build on their talents or strengths, than when they make comparable efforts to improve their areas of weakness.

This engaging workshop will develop awareness about the benefits to be gained both personally and professionally as a result of adopting a strengths based approach. Participants will engage in a strengths based profiling tool with 360-degree feedback from junior, senior colleagues and stakeholders to identify their main strengths and areas for development. These sessions will create an open and honest environment to deeply discuss, fully understand their unique results and the impact of applying this approach when managing others to collectively reach full potential.

Learning outcomes:

  • Acceleration of under-represented groups in your business

  • Energised, motivated, more self-aware talent who have accurate, reliable insight on their own unique strengths and how they add value to the business objectives

  • Practical tips on how to apply a strengths approach to continuously develop their own direct reports

  • 360-degree written feedback from up to 10 coworkers/stakeholders (what they value most and suggestions about how to optimise the strengths further)

  • Delegates will leave the session with bespoke SMART objectives and action plans that empowers them to instantly enhance performance in their roles and the wider business.
