About this event
This interactive workshop with a mixture of Power Point, group discussions and small group exercises, will openly explore ritual abuse, an area of abuse which is misunderstood and still wildly considered taboo within our society. It will draw upon a combination of professional experience, research and a unique perspective of lived experience of ritual abuse. The workshop will include the following;
Learning outcomes
- Learn what ritual abuse is.
- Explore the myths and language around ritual abuse and ritual abuse cases, and the impacts these have.
- Learn about the types of ritual abuse groups and their hierarchy.
- Explore and learn what ritual abuse looks like.
- Explore some unhelpful and helpful responses and what we can do to support survivors of ritual abuse.
- Identify some of the challenges of working with ritual abuse,
- Explore some experiences of material survivors may bring.
- Personal journey of surviving, escaping and healing from ritual abuse.
This workshop is aimed at anyone who works with survivors of trauma and sexual abuse or has an interest in ritual abuse.
This workshop follows on from the previous Dissociation and Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) workshop. There is a discount if you book onto both workshops at the same time - code BOOKX2.
Please note - some knowledge and understanding of DID is needed to attend this workshop.
