A talk on ritual theatre with reference to Home has Died (2012), a one-woman performance about migration, death and displacement.

About this Event

Zodwa Nyoni is a playwright, filmmaker and poet. She has performed her poetry (inter)nationally, including: British Museum, Ilkley Literature Festival, National Gallery (Zimbabwe), Nuyorican Poets Café (New York) and Historic Hampton House (Miami). She won the Channel 4 Playwright’s Scheme and was Writer-in-Residence at Leeds Playhouse. Nyoni’s plays include: Nine Lives (2014, Oron Mor & WYP), Boi Boi is Dead (2015, WYP), Love Again (2016, BBC Radio 3), Weathered Estates (2017, University of Hull/City of Culture), Ode to Leeds (2017, Leeds Playhouse) and A Khoisan Woman (2019, BBC Radio 3). She’s published by Bloomsbury and lectures at the University of Manchester.
