About River Light Press

River Light Press is a new independent publishing house based in Oxford and London. Led by experienced publisher Lucy Melville (formerly with Peter Lang)

River Light Press is the name that we have chosen as it is the River Thames which joins our two locations of Oxford and Richmond, in south west London. Our aim is to shine a light on great reads that are written by subject experts and scholars who value clear and compelling writing to an audience of professional and lay readers alike.

Lucy (from the Latin “Lux” meaning “Light”) will guide you through the whole process with the wonderful backing of her fellow directors and the team that are Aurora Metro, Supernova Books, Amber Lane Press and Books on the Rise. With fourteen years experience in directing global programmes of publishing, and as many years in education and trade publishing previously, Lucy will work with you to bring your literary, non-fiction and academic writing to life under this compelling and ambitious new venture.

We will be celebrating the release of two new River Light Press books 'Incel: The Weaponization of Misogyny' and 'Secret Women'

About Incel: The Weaponization of Misogyny

A timely and much needed book in which the author explores the men behind the Incel movement and the misinformation that surrounds them. How has our misunderstanding of the movement made it even more dangerous and, most importantly, how do we change it?

About Secret Women

Why do some women either have to, or choose to, live secret lives? This book explores the hidden lives of a diverse group of women who operate with a degree of subterfuge, mystery or deliberate deception, sensitively recounted by the author.
