Description

Please sign up for your ticket to attend RMI training here. Places are limited so please make sure you can sample your river for at least 6 months (1 sample per month) before registering.

The London Wildlife Trust and Thames21 cordinate a Riverfly Monitoring Initiative (RMI) on the River Cray and are looking for more volunteers. The RMI is a national scheme for monitoring the health of rivers developed by the Riverfly Partnership.

RMI sampling uses the presence and abundance of invertebrates in a sample to gauge the health of your river. Free training in the sampling method will be provided by the Zoological Society of London.

In the training you will learn:

The theory of the RMI and how it helps improve rivers

How to kick sample a river

How to identify river invertebrates and score a sample

What to do with the data you collect and how to get involved in Riverfly Monitoring Schemes across London

More information is here; www.riverflies.org/rp-riverfly-monitoring-initiative

You must be over 16 to attend this course

Equipment and refreshments will be provided.

If you have any questions please contact David Courtneidge. We look forward to seeing you soon!
