About this event

One of our Riverfly Monitors will collect a sample of aquatic invertebrates from the Yazor Brook and explain how to identify 8 groups of riverfly. This data feeds into the Riverfly Partnership and the Environment Agency’s knowledge of our local rivers and their health, whilst also being an important tool to detect pollution incidents.

Staff will enter the river to collect a sample, and event attendees will help identify the findings on the brook’s bank which is accessible.

Children are very welcome but under 18s must be supervised by a parent or carer at all times.

Please wear suitable footwear for outdoors and bring waterproofs / suncream depending on weather!

Bring your own magnifying glass or hand lens if desired. ID books will be provided.

There is no seating at site, but please bring your own camping chairs if necessary.

There are no toilets or drinking water provisions.
