Event description
Join two artists for an exploration along the river Almond, recording and creating material from nature itself and its changes.

About this Event

Join artists Annie and Morvern for an exploratory art walk, become an investigator into the riverscape and be part of creating the visual material for the new sculptures which will mark the new fish passes installed on the River Almond.

The artists will lead you along the river where you will sample, gather, print, record, draw, and find out what hidden beauty there is in this environment. There’ll be a chance to explore new techniques - using material gathered from the riverbank you will create cyanotypes - an early form of photography.

Afterwards we will gather for soup and bread and have a chance to share our impressions, memories and hopes for the River Almond.

We will meet at Craigsfarm Community Hub for 10.30am for an 11am start to the walk, retuning to the Hub for 1pm with food served at 1.30pm. The walk will take place on footpaths along the side of the river Almond, some of the ground is paved, but some is earth and maybe muddy and uneven. Please therefore bring sturdy shoes and a rain coat. If you have any concerns about accessibility for yourself or someone else, please feel free to call and discuss with us. The path is not accessible for wheelchairs along its entire length.

In the event of bad weather the workshop will be held inside - a day of exploratory and experimental cyanotypes, printmaking, drawing and mark making using reference material from the River Almond.
