'A conference focusing on increasing participation for individuals, clubs, groups and branches'
Active participation is key to reducing drowning across the UK. The more people we engage in essential lifesaving skills, the more chance they have of keeping themselves and others safe. Volunteers, lifesaving clubs and branches are uniquely placed to pass on these skills through their sessions; encouraging communities to come together in an enjoyable and friendly way.
The 2017 Conference is focused on giving back to you, to allow you to increase your capacity and knowledge. We aim to deliver an innovative conference that will provide a host of tools and insight, from a variety of sectors, case studies and specialists. The conference will leave you, as a delegate, brimming with ideas and tools to support you to grow your activity and make things that little bit easier to manage.
We encourage all individuals, clubs/groups and branches to attend. Come and join others from around the UK and Ireland to share ideas and experiences.
Following on from the success of the RLSS UK branch challenge, this year we will be shifting the focus to showcase clubs from around the UK and Ireland. This will allow us to share best practice examples and work together to stengthen our work.
In attending this year's conference, you will be amongst the first to collect information on key project and product launches, all focusing on supporting growth in drowning prevention and lifesaving activity. At this year's conference RLSS UK will be launching:
- The RLSS UK Volunteer Strategy
- A vision for non-vocational (lifesaving) awards
- The RLSS UK Club Development Programme
- The RLSS UK Safeguarding Strategy
- The first Lifesaving Instructor Tutor Course
