Join Us for the Clovelly Sea Swim – Sunday 31st August 2025

Clovelly village will once again host its much-loved annual Sea Swim in support of the RNLI, taking place on Sunday 31 August 2025.

Registration is only £20 and we kindly ask all swimmers to raise at least £50 each in sponsorship. You can setup your own JustGiving page by visiting RNLI Clovelly Sponsored Swim 2025 - JustGiving and selecting the "Start Fundraising" button.

Held ahead of the vibrant Lobster and Crab Festival, this fully supported open water swim offers both one-mile and two-mile course options. It’s a great opportunity to challenge yourself while raising vital funds for a great cause.

The event is open to intermediate and experienced sea swimmers aged 12 and over (swimmers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult). Please ensure that you train in the sea as well as the pool. Sea swimming differs significantly from pool swimming due to the unpredictable nature and tidal pulls. 2 miles in the sea can be significantly longer than in a swimming pool.

Wetsuits are mandatory for all participants.

All swimmers will enjoy:

  • Free entry to the Lobster and Crab Festival
  • A delicious BBQ brunch
  • A commemorative neck ribbon souvenir

This is a truly special event, brought to life by an amazing team of volunteers. With a buzzing atmosphere, stunning coastal views, and a real community spirit, it promises to be a memorable day for everyone involved.

Important: All participants must attend a mandatory safety briefing before the swim. The planned back up date if the sea conditions are unfavourable is 14th September.

So, whether you're swimming or cheering from the shore, come along and be part of this fantastic celebration of community, courage, and coastline.

The swim is a fantastic event largely run by volunteers, without whom it wouldn’t be possible. It promises to be great fun with a fantastic atmosphere, so do come along and get involved.

You must attend the safety briefing before the start of the swim.
