About this event
We are sorry to say that the RNLI Land's End Sportive 2025 has been cancelled. Lower than expected ticket sales made the event unviable. We are sorry for any inconvenience and will contact ticket holders directly.
The RNLI Land’s End Sportive is a challenging charity cycle ride to raise money for the RNLI and is kindly hosted by Land's End Landmark and supported by Clive Mitchell Cycles.
West Cornwall features some of the most scenic cycling routes in the UK but is a rugged location. The RNLI Land's End Sportive is a great way to discover this stunning coast as part of an organised ride, and by taking part you'll be raising vital funds for the RNLI's lifeboats and lifeguards.
You can choose from one of two routes;

Penlee Pedal - a scenic 43km loop from Land's End to Mousehole, Penlee lifeboat station and Penzance.
What's included?
- Event t-shirt to help you remember this unique challenge
- Entry to prize draw supported by Clive Mitchell Cycles www.clivemitchellcycles.co.uk
- Snacks and drinks at feed stations around the course

Good to know
Your entry fee will help save lives at sea, making you a lifesaver! To make the most of taking part in the Sportive, we'll send you an RNLI sponsorship form and a link to JustGiving so you can ask friends and family to sponsor your ride. Every penny you raise will be vital to making sure we can send our volunteer crews to save lives with the best kit, the best training and the best lifeboats.
Mounts Bay Cycle Service is supporting the event by providing free bike checks and set up support on the morning of the event.
The routes are all on-road so experience of road cycling is a must for the 75km route. Water and feed stations will be provided on the route.
You will be allocated a start time when you register. Please check in on the day 30 mins before your start time.
We will send you a safety brief, GPX map file and arrival instructions before the event.
Riders must bring a mobile phone, water bottle and puncture repair kit.

Yes there are toilet stops along both routes. For the 75km route, there are 4 fuel/rest stops at Penlee lifeboat station, St Ives lifeboat station, Sennen Cove lifeboat station and Land's End Penlee Lifeboat Station. For the 43km route this is a rest stop at Penlee Lifeboat Station.
All riders need to have a mobile phone, water bottle and puncture repair kit in order to race.
No. You can collect your t-shirt from the registration desk upon arrival.
Helmets are compulsory to take part in the sportive.
A mechanic will be available at event registration to help make sure your bike is ready for the event. We will have a support vehicle that can come and collect you should you have a mechanical problem. We recommend you bring a puncture repair kit with you on the ride.
Both routes involve cycling on roads with traffic so some experience of road cycling would be beneficial as would a good level of fitness because Cornwall is very hilly. We recommend you have a bike in good condition with gears.
If bad weather is forecast, the event may be cancelled. We will inform riders by email up to 24hrs before the planned start time. We will try to find another date to go ahead with the sportive if we have to cancel, but refunds will be available if you can’t make the new date.
All riders will be given a safety briefing immediately before their waves starts. Route maps and files will be sent to all riders in the week before the event.
Food and drink stations are sited around the course and at the start/finish. Land’s End also has several catering outlets that will be open.
All participants will be entered into a prize draw and will find it if they’ve won when they check in upon completing the sportive.
We plan to have an independent event photographer who will have images for sale after the event.
