RNLI: Working towards a world where nobody drowns
Date and time
Join us to find out how the RNLI uses its experience and expertise to save lives around the world - and how the Isle of Man is helping.
About this event
Did you know the RNLI works internationally, as well as around the British coasts?
Even from its very beginnings, founder Sir William Hillary’s vision for the service was “to extend its beneficial effects to the most distant shores, and to generations yet unborn.”
The One World Centre is delighted to host Kate Eardley, RNLI Head of International Advocacy, Communications and Evidence, and RNLI Programme Manager, Darren Williams, to talk about RNLI projects in communities and countries particularly affected by drowning.
Kate will discuss the humanitarian work of the RNLI, helping save lives from drowning at home and in some of the worst affected places worldwide, while Darren will discuss the RNLI’s Programme with young children in Bangladesh, which has been funded in part through an International Development Partnership grant from the Isle of Man Government.
Tickets are free but please book to secure your seat. More information available by calling 800464 or by emailing info@owciom.org
