Road to Worlds Training Package 2018 (second date)

After the amazing success of our 2017 package we are happy to announce that The R2W Team will be running another course in 2018!


Road2Worlds is the U.K leading Training Package for those looking to turn from OCR Racer to OCR Athlete ready for the World OCR Championships.


Who is this package for?

- If you are looking to participate in the OCR World Championships this year, then this is for you!

- If you are looking to see how much you can progress in the competitive side of OCR this year then this is for you!

- If you want to identify and improve any weaknesses in your body and your technique, then this is for you!

- If you want to turn from OCR Racer to OCR Athlete, then this is for you!

What is it?

This package has been designed and created by 3 of the U.K’s most experienced OCR Coaches, Coach Tony Leary, Coach Tony Campbell and Coach Scotty P.T. We believed that we could raise the quality of OCR Coaching for the Competitive Racers. Want to get Fit, there are loads of coaches for that, want to get Fast, there are loads of coaches for that. To be a Competitive OCR Athlete we believed that we needed to go far more in depth, look at the mental as well as the physical and get you looking at all areas of your racing game. We worked so hard creating the 2017 package and believe me when I see that the 2018 package is looking even stronger! Every smallest detail has been looked at to bring to you our finest package yet! Time to stop just Training Hard and start TRAINING SMART!

The package is made up of 4 dates set throughout the year, 3 x 8 hour days and 1 x 4 hour day. The training is both classroom and field based.

We have worked hard to try make sure the dates don’t fall on your big races. Check out just some of what we have planned over the 4 Days;

Day 1 – 21/01/18 – 09:00-17:00.

Pre-Assessments – Where are you at?
We will be looking at a wide range of Basic Strength, Power, Speed, Fitness, Flexibility, Balance, Running and Technical tests and giving you advice on areas to work on.

Pre-habilitation
We will look at common weaknesses which predispose athletes to common injuries and give you exercises to assist in keeping you functioning injury free.

Recovery
We will teach you a range of techniques used to aid recovery. Some of these include Foam Rolling, Stretch and Mobility exercises.

Race Planning
We will discuss events which we would advise you signing up to and which we believe will aid in your performance at the World Champs. It is important to make sure all your races have a purpose.

Training Schedules
We will talk about training generally and give examples of training schedules to help you get your training functional and specific to your goals.

Goal Setting
We will be helping you work out exactly what your goals are. It is important that you set a range of goals to help keep you focused and on track.

Day 2 – 11/03/18 - 09:00-17:00.

Technical Training
We will work on a range of non-pressurised techniques to get your skill level up to where it needs to be. This will start with high recovery – high quality training.

Pre-Race Warm Up Drills/Exercises
Race performance can be majorly affected by the quality of your warm up. We will show you how to warm up in such a way that you can get maximum results out on the course.

How to Asses Races
It is important to be able to asses races individually. This includes doing your homework with regards to the race/conditions etc and what to do when you turn up in the morning.

How to Race
Getting around a course as quick as you can and learning how to actually race is very different. We will show you how.

Prehab Progressions
Progress with exercises you were given on day 1.

Practice Self Treatment
It is good to go to Physios but there is a lot you can do yourself to help keep your body moving well.

Pre/During/Post Race Nutrition
We will teach you how best to maximise performance via your nutrition.

Day 3 – 17/06/18 - 09:00-17:00.

Pressurised Technical Training
It is all good being able to do technical obstacles in dry/controlled conditions but are you ‘Race Ready’? Add water/noise/people watching/us shouting and can you now compose yourself to get over the obstacle?

Re-Test of Initial Assessment Exercises
Have you progressed from the start? What is the next step to your training.

Review Progress so far
Look back at areas such as, kit, nutrition, race prep, breathing techniques, etc.

Day 4 – 16/09/18 - 09:00-13:00.

Race Ready
We will put on event which will recreate a race over 90-120 mins including lots of technical obstacles through a range of conditions. We want to see what last minute areas you need to tweak.

Recap
Look back on areas we have worked on previously. Talk about the upcoming event and look how best to attack it and get the absolute most from yourself.

This is not just aimed at people going out to the OCR World Championships but the timings have been put in place so that it would fall perfectly for those who are. You will also have access to a closed facebook group just for those on this course and the previous course. Here you will have the chance to talk with others from the course as well as get regular updates from us.

The course is just £215 for the whole package and is available to just 25 people. This will sell out quick and we are unable to hold spaces.
