Tramways of Prague

Robert reports on the celebrations in September 2025 to mark 150 years of trams in the Czech capital and also shows some of his personal highlights of this fantastic system, as well as looking at the latest extensions to open and the new Hloubětín tram depot which recently hosted an open day. He also presents a selection of photos from a recent visit to Plzeň where the tram depot has recently reopened after a complete rebuild.

Robert Pritchard is editor of Today’s Railways UK and also enjoys visiting and riding on different railways and tramways around Europe. He has been particularly keen on visiting central Europe, with a special interest in rolling stock and tramways, for almost 15 years.

Robert has been an LRTA member for ten years and has also co-authored books on the Sheffield and Nottingham tram systems as well as the Platform 5 rolling stock guides to Czech Republic/Slovakia and Ireland.

You can join the ZOOM meeting on 15th October 2025 from 15:30 for a prompt 16:00 start. All times are shown in local UK time. If watching from outside the UK, please check your Local Time relative to UK Time (GMT).
