Rochester is without question one of the most historic places in the country. At a strategically-important point just one day's walk from the City of London, and at a crucial crossing point over the River Medway, Kings and rulers over the last 2,000 years have recognised its importance.

That's one of the key reasons why we have some of the most significant buildings in England, with those visible today covering over 1400 years of England's history.
