About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours

The recently formed Surely Dan brings together a collection of accomplished musicians to celebrate the musical legacy of Steely Dan. Fans will be more than familiar with the highly-polished studio sound of classic Steely Dan, but this band also manages to capture the groove, excitement and dynamism of the band’s early performances, when Fagen and Becker shared the stage with some of the most celebrated session players of all time.

The Surely Dan set includes all the Dan’s biggest hits, including Kid Charlemagne, Peg, Don’t Take Me Alive, Josie, Dirty Work, Night by Night and many more. Plus, rarer fan favourites such as Brooklyn (Owes the Charmer Under Me), Doctor Wu, Bad Sneakers and East St. Louis Toodle-Oo. As an additional treat, the band also include in their set several tunes from Donald Fagen’s massively popular album The Nightfly.

Audiences are in for a feast of Steely Dan music, played with skill and energy by a group of highly experienced musicians who are themselves lifelong fans. Surely Dan also have the unique distinction of having worked with several members of the Steely Dan live/recording lineup of the last two decades!
