We’re pleased to announce that on February 2nd we’re running our first rocket design workshop!
Jo Hinchliffe (aka @concreted0g) will be introducing you to the basic anatomy of a rocket, looking at the principles of launching and recovering low to mid power amateur rocket builds.
Participants will get a chance to follow along and design their own rocket in free opensource software OpenRocket, before simulating flights with their designs.
In the final section Jo will demonstrate how both digital fabrication methods (3d printing, laser cutting & CNC routing) can be utilised, along with more hands-on methods of rocket building.
You will need to bring a laptop that can run the OpenRocket application (any
laptop running Windows, OS X or Linux should do!)
Jo will bring a small fleet of home-made rockets with him for you to examine and explore including examples of part built designs to further your learning and plenty of video examples!
Ticket cost includes pizza and refreshments.
