About this event

The rocks we can see in Roslin Glen tell us what the Lothians were like during the Carboniferous Period, when the coal deposits formed that have been so important to the area. Dr Mark Wilkinson, a geologist from the University of Edinburgh, will lead a short walk though the glen.

The total walk is about 4km on paths, but sturdy shoes are recommended.

Meet for 10am at the main car park for Roslin Glen Country Park: https://www.midlothian.gov.uk/directory_record/171/roslin_glen_country_park
