Roll: experiment with roulettes to make a coordinated set of impressed and/or relief decorated plates. Roulettes are cylindrical stamps that are rolled into the surface of clay to make a repeated mark.
During the session you will:
Review different approaches to making roulettes.
Select and experiment with a wide range of custom-made roulettes.
Make your own roulettes.
Plan a set/arrangement of coordinated tableware.
Consider scale and relatedness of pattern within a set/arrangement.
Use drop moulds to form shapes.
Become familiar with the working stages of clay.
Explore how to customize rims.
Review and select basic hand tools to refine finishes.
Choose a coating from a small selection of glazes.
Refreshments and informal lunch.
Post production costs: firings and glazing (undertaken by the studio).
Delivery (postage and packaging) of finished work to one person within the group.
Is there an age limit?
All events are for groups of adults ages 18+. Please contact the studio if you would like to include anyone under 18.
What is access like?
Sunken Studio is housed in a period property with steep steps leading into the property, and down to the studio. There is no lift access. If you have any concerns about specific access requirements please firstname.lastname@example.org or call 07739 079438.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
We are based in Roundhay, Leeds. We are close to the park and easily accessible by car and public transport. To get here by public transport catch the number 2 or 12 and alight at Street Lane/Shaftsbury Avenue (W or SE bound). The studio is a 2 minute walk from Street Lane.
There is ample on-street parking.

What is the cancellation/refund policy?
Cancellation by those booked to attend an event
Cancellation of attendance by individuals or groups can be done by email or phone -firstname.lastname@example.org or 07739 079 438. Contact Sunken Studio at least 5 days prior to the event to be entitled to receive a full refund. Those who cancel their attendance within 5 days of the event, for whatever reason, will receive a 90% refund. Those who fail to attend, for whatever reason, will not receive a refund.
Cancellation by Sunken Studio
Sunken Studio reserves the right to cancel an event at its sole discretion. In the event of such a cancellation Sunken Studio will refund the value of the booking.
The Studio expressly excludes any liability for any direct or indirect losses or damages arising as a result of such cancellation and will not, for example, be responsible for any travel or accommodation costs incurred. In the event of cancellation, Sunken Studio will inform those booked to attend the event by email and/or telephone.
