Description

Trainer: Liz MacRae

Join Liz and work with other local teaching professionals to create a range of dishes and determine the learning intent. Could it be food preparation, food science, food skills, food provenance, nutrition, hygiene? All of them or something else?

Through discussion, gain insight as to how recipes can be made more complex to encourage and demonstrate stretch and challenge, pupil progression and independence.

What will be covered?

  • Recipe planning – understanding the learning intent behind practical activities.
  • Food skills – use, enhance and develop your own food skills.
  • Working under pressure – experience how your pupils may feel during a practical lesson.
  • Links to Food – a fact of life resources.

Why attend?

  • Update knowledge and skills to enhance teaching and learning about practical food skills, recipe complexity and pupil progression.
  • Network with local teaching professionals.
  • Signposts to free editable resources for use in the classroom will be highlighted.
  • A certificate of attendance will be provided – useful as evidence for your professional development and performance management.
