Event description
Travel across the ancient heart of London!

About this event

Travel through two thousand years of history, meeting Romans, kings, Charles Dickens, Anne Boleyn's ghost, and Queen Boudica (and hear how she's connected to Harry Potter!)

On our virtual tour we'll travel across the City of London, the ancient heart of the capital. We'll learn about the City's founding two thousand years ago, its survival through fire and war, the Tower of London's bloody past, the City's oldest pub, and the easiest way to tunnel into the Bank of England's vaults!

The online tour will last around one and a half hours, and you will be sent a Zoom link beforehand in order to log on.

  • "The tour was excellent, we all loved it (that includes myself and the two young history buffs with me, one 10 the other 18yo). Tom is a wonderful guide, very knowledgeable, funny and engaging. Highly recommended." ***** Romana A
  • "There are loads of walking tours around London, I would absolutely recommend this one, very very reasonably priced and you're not dragged all over the place with a large crowd, numbers are limited which does make a difference. I've seen places I never knew were there! The guide, Tom, is very affable and knowledgeable (not an actor who's learnt a script). The gory history of London is always fascinating and he pulls it off extremely well with humour with references to some of England's greatest writers. I'll definitely try the others." ***** Sian G
  • "The tour was fantastic, so interesting and we learnt so much. Tom made it a wonderful experience using quotes from literature and other sources to bring history alive. He was so enthusiastic and happy to answer questions. His historical knowledge was outstanding. We'll definitely be going on his other tours. A must do for all!!" ***** Jane M
