Thu 4 May 2017, 19:00 – 21:00 BST
Rooftop Book Club and Emerald Street are delighted to present…
Fiction that brings you alive, with Sarah Schmidt and Sarah Winman
Join us for drinks and literary adventures on our stunning riverside rooftop, for London’s only Rooftop Book Club in the company of two very special authors. Presenting two of 2017’s most talked-about and highly anticipated hot books, this is a night of epic bookish proportions, brought to you in partnership with Emerald Street Literary Festival.
Sarah Schmidt’s debut novel See What I Have Done is published on the day of the event, and has been the driving force behind a resurgence of interest in true-crime-inspired literary fiction this year. Her novel has already been featured in seventeen(!) books of the year round-ups for 2017 and promises to be an intense and memorable reading experience.
Multi-bestselling author Sarah Winman first found fame with her debut When God Was A Rabbit, followed by A Year of Marvellous Ways, with both being selected as Richard & Judy Book Club picks. With her third novel Tin Man, Sarah has created a unique and clever narrative; one which sweeps you up from the very first page and guarantees to leave a permanent impression on your heart. This is a very special first preview event for Tin Man, ahead of its summer publication on 27th July.
We are delighted to announce that this fantastic evening will be chaired by journalist and author Hannah Beckerman, as she interviews each author with a short reading and Q&A along the way.
Copies of Sarah Schmidt’s See What I Have Done plus Sarah Winman’s previous novels When God Was a Rabbit and A Year of Marvellous Ways will be on sale from Waterstones on the evening.
Tickets are £10 and include a welcome drink, nibbles and a tote bag.
Please arrive from 6:30pm for a prompt 7pm start. The event will finish at 8:45pm.
