Dieter Rams wrote The Ten Principles of Good Design about 40 years ago. His "less, but better" approach to design has inspired a host of products and a generation of designers.

Jony Ive (designer of iPods, iPhones, iMacs and many other things beginning with an 'i') once wrote of him:
