Root & Write
Overview
Do you find it hard to make time for your creativity? To shake off the busy day? Do you feel stuck with a piece of work?
Root & Write is designed to help writers slow down, get inspired and do what they do best: WRITE! All in a cosy cafe setting with a hot drink of your choice included.
Plant roots have 2 main responsibilities:
- secure the plant
- absorb nutrients
This workshop is inspired by these principles and is broken up into 3 parts...
Part 1 - GROUND
Once you are settled in with your hot drink, you will be taken through some grounding exercises to regulate, clear the mind and shake off the day. This includes a guided meditation.
Part 2 - ABSORB
Together we will read and discuss some selected poems and work from other mediums (paintings, music etc) to get the creative juices flowing!
Part 3 - FLOURISH
We write! There will be writing prompts that you can work from or you are welcome to continue with a project or idea of your own. There will be a little time to share some of your work at the end with the group if you would like to.
