Meeting Point: RSPB Wood of Cree – Barcyle car park, near Newton Stewart (What 3 words location is ignore.digesting.reaction. Grid reference NX385695)
Join artist Joshua Williams and a local expert for a thought-provoking day exploring the rich layers of Galloway and Southern Ayrshire Biosphere’s Atlantic rainforest. The day will begin with a guided walk through the Wood of Cree, reflecting on the land’s historical use and considering how present-day practices continue to shape it.
Afterwards, you’ll gather at Joshua’s ceramic studio in Newton Stewart for a hands-on creative workshop. Together, you’ll explore personal and collective visions for the future of the Galloway landscape. Each participant will craft a small brick enclosing their hopes and intentions—these will be pit-fired and become lasting markers of our shared ideals.
Come prepared for walking and working with your hands.
