About this event

  • Event lasts 7 hours

We are delighted to be joined by Menna Godfrey, our keynote speaker for this wonderful conference for childminders.

Menna has a particular interest in why the outdoors is such a good play for play and learning to take place. She has over 10 years experience of working as a childminder and more recently managing her own outstanding outdoor playgroup.

The keynote will explore the conditions and practice for play and learning outdoors that support all children’s development. Touching on nature connection Menna will consider the importance of being outside for children and adults in terms of their holistic development with an emphasis on health and wellbeing.

Menna will also be running an working embracing mud play. Whether it is a ‘mud laboratory’, an ‘investigation station’ or a more traditional ‘mud kitchen’ we will consider how childminders can offer opportunities for children to combine the elemental materials of earth and water.

We will also be joined by Victoria Furness, who will be running a workshop demonstrating Natural Dyes and Natural Tiles with a Roman theme.
