Roots and Wings - Supported Lodgings Info Event (Online)

Roots and Wings - Supported Lodgings Info Event (Online)

By Bracknell Forest Fostering

Overview

It’s not just a room, it's a haven and a launch pad to a better future. Mentor a young person's skills for independent living.

This online event will introduce you to our Roots and Wings Supported Lodgings Programme for young people aged 16+ who want to live independently but aren't ready for house-shares or private rentals.

Supported lodgings act as a stepping stone to independence and host carers aren't foster carers or parents.

Instead, they give a young person roots by offering a safe and comfortable home with a private room.

They also give them wings by mentoring young people to develop practical life skills such as budgeting and household management, and supporting life opportunities such as accessing education, training or work.

In return, we cover costs and expenses such as:

  • rent
  • service charges such as utilities and council tax
  • other support costs such as food or meals

Come and find out more. Ask all the questions you need. Let's see how we could work together to give a young person the roots and wings they need to live a full and independent life.
