How can the crops we grow between harvests support more resilient and climate neutral farming systems?
This event will explore the role of catch and cover crops in protecting the soil and building soil health, preventing nutrient loss and promoting recycling and providing habitat for a variety of farmland biodiversity. We will hear from Richard Ling, who farms 400 ha in Norfolk, and Tom Jewers, who farms 400 ha in Suffolk. Both Richard and Tom will discuss the opportunities and challenges of catch and cover cropping, sharing their practical experiences by referring to ongoing trials on farm. Join us to find out more about species selection and mixes, management and destruction strategies and the effects of catch and cover crops within the whole rotation.
Please arrive at Rookery Farm at 10am for refreshments. The first presentation will commence at 10.15am.
