About this event

  • Event lasts 1 day 8 hours
  • UNDER 18 WITH PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN
  • Free venue parking

Join us for a weekend of Mordheim fun in this second event in the Rosalind's Legacy series. Enjoy 7 story driven games of Mordheim whilst also raising money for a great cause.

All profits from the event will be donated to Animals In Distress.

At this event attendees will join one of four factions to enter Mordheim to spread the influence of their chosen patron and to hunt the Fractured, beasts and men inflicted with a curse that causes corrupted Wyrdstone to sprout from their bodies.

About Animals In Distress

Animals in Distress is a small, local charity with a big heart, dedicated to giving lost and abandoned pets a second chance at happiness. Born in 1981 from the compassion of three remarkable women in Torbay, their charity has grown from humble beginnings — rehoming dogs from local kennels and cats from a garden enclosure — into a vital rescue centre at Biltor in Ipplepen, South Devon.

Each year, they provide love, shelter, and expert care to hundreds of cats, dogs, rabbits, and guinea pigs who find themselves homeless through no fault of their own. Whether it’s due to illness, neglect, financial hardship, or simply life taking an unexpected turn, these animals come to them in need of hope and healing. And that’s exactly what they give them — along with a promise: to keep them safe and cared for until we find them the perfect forever home.

Animals in Distress have been running for over 40 years, and it’s only through your continued kindness and support that they can keep doing what they do best — picking up the pieces when pets’ lives fall apart, and helping them start again.

Event Details

This will be a 2-day Mordheim Campaign Event held on Saturday 31st January and Sunday 1st February 2026. The event will be held at Whipton Institute Social Club, in Exeter. Over the course of the 2 days you will play 7 games, including multi-warband games.

The event is aimed at both, new players to Mordheim and veterans.

You will need to make sure you bring:

- All models you will need for your warband (this includes any additional models you may wish to purchase for your warband over the weekend including hired swords and Dramatis Personae). Warbands will start with 500gc (any spells/prayers will be rolled for in front of your opponent before the first game begins). All models will need to be painted (3 colours and base minimum). Please make sure to read the House Rules section before creating your warband.

- A physical copy of your warband roster (we will have blank copies printed out for people who don't have access to a printer, but please allow yourself some extra time before the first game in order to complete your roster).

- Please come prepared with any gaming equipment you might need (dice, tape measures, pencils, tokens, etc).

- A physical or digital copy of the rule book (a digital copy of all rules used at the event can be found here: https://broheim.net/downloads.html )

- **Optional (but highly recommended) ** To bring (but ideally provide before the event) background lore for your warband. Anyone who submits their background lore before the event (at least a week before at the latest) will gain an additional 50gc which can be used on their warband creation.

- **Optional (but recommended) ** Bring a display style board or set of scenery that will act as your camp. Please make sure that the camp is not on a plinth as it will need to sit flush next to other players camps. The foot print for your camp should be no larger than 25cm x 25cm and must be able to hold your entire warband. This can be as simple as a few printed tents or could be a multi floored ruin that your warband has made into a makeshift camp.

There will be awards for the following categories (As with the game itself, this event is a narrative event and so there will be no award for 'most games won'):

- Favourite Warband - This vote will be for your personal favourite Warband, be that because of the painting, conversions, their camp or just general theme.

- Best Painted Model – Players will vote for their favourite model based on painting and conversion work.

- Sportsmanship Award - Players will vote for the player they feel showed the highest levels of Sportsmanship over the weekend.

- Wooden Spoon – Player with the lowest warband rating at the end of the event.

Choose your Patron. Choose your Path.

Mordheim does not suffer indecision. Every alliance is a risk. Every mission a test.

The wyrdstone calls. And the City of the Damned is listening.

You must pick one of the four factions to align your chosen warband with. Whilst each warband does have its preferred factions that it works with, there is nothing stopping you from picking a faction that is not listed under a particular patrons faction. As long as you can provide a reason as to why your chosen warband are working for that patron/faction in your warband’s background lore, the choice is completely up to you (following the house rules of course).

THE PALE DOMINION

Patron: Hierarch Sylvestra, the White Thorn

Symbol: A white rose bound in barbed thorns, encircled by a radiant sun and a crescent moon.

Philosophy: The Pale Dominion exists to restore equilibrium between divine mandate and natural law. Hierarch Sylvestra, once an inquisitor of Sigmar and now bonded with a slumbering forest spirit, leads with burning clarity and verdant judgment. Their agents walk the line between holy fire and ancient earth.

They see wyrdstone as a wound upon the world—it must be sanctified or erased.

Your purpose is not conquest. It is correction.

Favoured Warbands:

- Sisters of Sigmar (Core)

- Witch Hunters (Core)

- Bretonnian Knights (Crusaders on holy mission)

- Wood Elves (Guardians)

- High Elves (Mystics)

- Lizardmen (Bringers of balance)

- Orcs & Goblins (Vermin)

THE EMBER EYE

Patron: Prophet Malvax the Blind

Symbol: A flaming eye split with cracks, ever-weeping molten tears.

Philosophy: The Ember Eye seeks not balance, but transcendence through flame. Wyrdstone is sacred, a divine spark meant to cleanse the old and give rise to the new. Malvax, a prophet blinded by his own visions, teaches that only by embracing mutation and agony can the world be reborn.

You are not warriors. You are vessels for holy destruction.

Favoured Warbands:

- Chaos Warbands (Core)

- Skaven (Kin)

- Orcs & Goblins (Destroyers)

THE GILDED PATH

Patron: Chancellor Meridus of Marienburg

Symbol: A gold coin crossed by a quill and dagger.

Philosophy: Gold buys all: loyalty, truth, and blood. Chancellor Meridus sees wyrdstone as the new currency of power. His agents do not scream in battle—they whisper in courts, poison wine, and fund entire wars with a flick of the ledger.

You fight not for glory or gods—but for contract and coin.

Favoured Warbands:

- Empire Mercenaries (Reikland, Marienburg, Middenheim) (Core)

- Tilean & Estalian warbands (Core)

- Dwarves (Crafting/Trade Clans) (Partners)

- Dark Elves (Black Market Traders)

Reviled Warbands:

- Sisters of Sigmar (Stubborn)

- Wood Elves (Deadly)

- Lizardmen (Feared)

THE CRIMSON CONCORDAT

Patron: Lady Naereth Velmora, the Crimson Whisper

Symbol: A black circle draped in crimson silks, marked by a single blood-red teardrop.

Philosophy: Lady Naereth Velmora is a vampiric aristocrat whose charm masks ancient horrors. She is the last voice of a secret cabal of eternal lords known as the Crimson Concordat. To her, wyrdstone is not raw power—it is promise, a path to dominion over time, death, and memory.

You do not fight battles. You pull strings. You vanish witnesses.

Favoured Warbands:

- Undead (Core)

- Dark Elves (Inner Circle)

Tolerated Warbands:

- Chaos Cults (Manipulated)

- Witch Hunters (Corruptible)

- Skaven (Rival tools)

House Rules

Below is a list of rules that will be used during the event. If you have any questions or need clarification on any of the below rules, please feel free to contact us.

Gameplay

Rules & Errata - The campaign will be based on the www.broheim.net Core Rules and "the Ultimate Mordheim Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) & Errata" documents subject to these House Rules.

Optional Rules - All 'Optional Rules' are used, including 'Critical Hits', 'Escape From Combat', 'Misfires' etc.

Armour Piercing - Armour penetration start from attacks made with S5 instead of S4.

Scraped off the Cobblestones - If a model goes out of action from a fall caused by being knocked down or stunned, then the model who cause it is deemed to have taken them out of action (for XP purposes).

Windows & Ledges - You may shoot over a ledge or out of a window if you are within half an inch of the ledge/window. If you choose this, you are visible for return fire.

Weapons

Shields - Shields grant the user a bonus +1 to their save in hand-to-hand combat. Please note that models only gain the benefits of a shield if carried in their free hand (If the wielder is using a 2 handed weapon, they gain no benefit from the shield).

Bucklers – Bucklers now provides +1 armour in close combat, addition to its normal rules.

Ranged Weapons – No more than 50% (Rounding up) of your warband may be armed with a ranged weapon. This includes Hired Swords and Dramatis Personae .

Lucky Charm & Rabbit's Foot - Limited to one of each per warband, per mission (you can keep as many as you like in your 'Stored Equipment' and a model may be equipped with both a Lucky Charm and Rabbit’s Foot).

Spears - In the first round of combat, models with spears strike before any other weapons (including 'Strike First').

Price Changes - All 'Black Powder' weapons are 20% cheaper (rounding fractions up). Hammers, Maces and Clubs are increased from 3gc each to 6gc. Slings are increased from 2gc each to 6gc.

Dual Wielding - If a model is using two one handed weapons, 1 attack is made with a modifier of -1 to hit (users’ choice as to which but must be declared before rolling dice). Also, attacks made with the offhand can never generate critical hits.

Remember the Basics – Critical Hit rolls require a further roll of a 4+ in order to roll on that weapons’ critical hit chart. If you fail the 4+you still count as wounding, but it does not count as a critical hit.

New Skills:

- 'Ambidextrous' is a new skill available to all Heroes. The skill will negate the effects of 'Duel Wielding'.

-‘Target the weak spots’ is a new skill available to all Heroes. The skill will negate the effects of ‘Remember the Basics’, the Hero will no longer need to roll the additional 4+ to score a critical hit.

Warbands

They came from far and wide – Warbands (and Hired Swords) can be chosen from the following tables on the Broheim warbands page ( https://broheim.net/warbands.html ): 1a, 1b, 1c, 2a and 2b.

Dramatis Personae - The following Dramatis Personae will be available: Aenur 'Sword of Twilight', Bertha Bestraufrung, Countess Marianna Chevaux, Johann 'The Knife', Nicodemus, Uli & Marquand, Veskit 'High Executioner of Clan Eshin'.

There can only be one - Once a warband successfully hires a Dramatis Personae, that character becomes unavailable to all other warbands whilst hired.

Eyes of Judgement - At the end of each game, please complete each of the 'Post Battle Sequence' steps with your opponent. If you need to roll for a new spell/prayer, please also do this in front of another player or organiser.

Extra Training – Warlord may take a skill from the generic skill tables that they have access to (ie no faction specific tables) at creation for 50gc (If you decide to use this to pick an additional spell, you will need to roll for the spell in front of your opponent before your first game.).

We come prepared! – All armour is 50% cheaper (rounding up) at warband creation.

No Loyalties, no ties – Add this special rule to the Beggar hired sword profile -Roll the additional exploration dice for the beggar separately. Should the beggar’s exploration roll be a 1, then the beggar has betrayed the warband, intentionally misleading them so they become lost so he can pick through the scraps. Though your warband manage to find their way back, they return empty handed. Discard any and all dice rolled for exploration this phase and permanently remove the beggar from your warbands roster (A new beggar can be hired again in the future). Note that the beggar’s exploration dice cannot be modified or rerolled.

A Pact of Splinters

Your patron's words were silk, but you heard the iron beneath them.

You are to work alongside the other warbands—fellow blades in your patron’s grand design—hunting down the beasts known as the Fractured. These wyrdstone-infested horrors roam the outskirts of the shattered Bulwark, and each slain abomination promises a harvest of the crystal so dearly prized by those who trade in power.

Together, you are to track them. Together, you are to bleed them. And together, you are to send the shimmering shards back to the one who holds your leash.

But Mordheim does not know unity. Nor does your patron, not truly.

There was a note in their voice, a glint in their eye, a subtle turn of phrase—one that every warband heard, yet none will dare speak aloud: there will be more for the most loyal, the most efficient... the most ruthless.

You may be on the same side—for now—but every nod, every whispered plan, every shared route is a mask waiting to slip. Behind every comrade’s grin lurks the hunger for favour, the desperation to stand out above the others. When the Fractured are slain and the wyrdstone flows, knives will not only point outward—they will turn inward.

In Mordheim, betrayal is a currency far more common than coin.

And you have no intention of coming out empty-handed.
