Personalities and Pivotal Moments in the Napoleonic Wars and War of 1812
Three days setting in context the career of General Ross in a conference entitled ‘Personalities and Pivotal Moments in the Napoleonic Wars and War of 1812’.
The conference is supported by Newry and Mourne District Council, the Ulster Scots Agency and Peace III Southern Partnership under the ‘Future Foundations’ programme which is delivered by Armagh City and District Council. Peace III is managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).
Key speakers include Washington Post journalist Steve Vogel, author of Through the Perilous Fight: Six Weeks that Saved the Nation and former BBC veteran Peter Snow, author of When Britain Burned the White House. Other speakers include local historians, visiting lecturers and independent scholars from Ireland, the UK, the USA, Canada and France.
During the conference delegates will examine the role and personality of key characters involved. There will also be opportunities to look at how we recall, interpret and commemorate history in the context of Peace and Reconciliation.
You can select which day/event you wish to attend. If you wish to attend all three events, please book tickets accordingly. Attendance is free. *PLEASE NOTE: You may only attend the Conference dinner on Saturday 19th of October if you have attended the Conference on that day.

Parking only available at An Cuan for speakers/disabled access. Parking available in the village and to the rear of An Cuan and will be signposted. Parking also available at the adjacent Kilbroney Park, please allow 5 min walk to venue.

No we will have a registration desk at each event - if you are booking multiple tickets you need to email us the indiviudal names for registration.
The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
