Perfect for beginners, this hands-on course teaches you the essential skills needed for making with clay. Guided by expert instructors, you will gain confidence in this craft while bringing your designs to life and experiencing how to turn your creative passion into profit.

Wk1- Clay Handling,Texture Tiles and Pinch Pot Techniques. Practical introduction to clay handling, exploring surface design through texture tiles and making pinch pots. Plus studio best practice and appropriate health and safety requirements.

Wk2- Push and Press Mould Techniques. Demonstration and practical experience learning the principles of push mould and press mould techniques.

Wk3- Introduction to Coil Building. Learning the principles of coil building.

Wk4- Slab Building Project. Learning the practical techniques for slab building and creating an expressive sculpture.

Wk5- Combining techniques. Utilising the skills learned create a sculpture or functional piece using the three hand building techniques.

Wk6- Application of Stains, Underglazes and Oxides. Understanding the difference between stains, underglaze and oxides, how to handle and mix safely. Application to work.

Wk7- Introduction to Throwing. A practical introduction to the potters wheel and the basic principles of throwing. Preparing clay for throwing and focusing on the Bowl form.

Wk8- Throwing Continued. Building on skills learned in week 7, this week will focus on a cylinder form.

Wk9- Turning and Finishing. Demonstration and practical experience in turning work on the potters wheel and finishing work to a high standard. Applying Handles.

Wk10- Mould Making and Slip Casting. Demonstration of creating a plaster mould. Introduction and practical work slip casting with mould. Fettling and finishing work.

Wk11- Principles of glazing, testing and application. Glazing work made and using decorative techniques such as mono-print and tissue transfer printing, sgrafitto and inlay.

Wk12- Final Glazing, Firing Processes and Presentation. - Final finishing and glazing session. Practical talk on best practice for firing kilns. Presentation of all work created and discussion on plan for the 6 month studio access.

Wythnos 1- Trin Clai, Teils Gweadedd a Thechnegau Pinsio Potiau. Cyflwyniad ymarferol i drin clai, archwilio dyluniad arwynebol drwy deil gweadedd a chreu potiau pinsio. A stiwdio i ymarfer gofynion iechyd a diogelwch priodol.

Wythnos 2- Technegau Mowldio Gwthio a Phwyso. Esboniad a phrofiad ymarferol yn dysgu egwyddorion technegau gwthio mowld a phwyso mowld.

Wythnos 3- Cyflwyniad i Adeiladu Torch. Dysgu'r egwyddorion o adeiladu torch.

Wythnos 4- Prosiect Adeiladu Slab. Dysgu'r technegau ymarferol o adeiladu slab a chreu cerflun mynegiannol.

Wythnos 5- Cyfuno technegau. Defnyddio'r sgiliau a ddysgwyd i greu cerflun neu ddarn ymarferol gan ddefnyddio tair techneg adeiladu â llaw.

Wythnos 6- Gweithio â Staeniau, Tanwydredd ac Ocsidau. Deall y gwahaniaeth rhwng staeniau, tanwydredd ac ocsidau a sut i'w trin a'u cymysgu'n ofalus. Rhoi hyn ar waith.

Wythnos 7- Cyflwyniad i Daflu. Cyflwyniad ymarferol i'r olwyn lestri ac egwyddorion sylfaenol taflu clai. Paratoi clai i'w daflu a chanolbwyntio ar ffurf y Fowlen.

Wythnos 8- Parhad o Daflu Clai. Gan ddatblygu sgiliau a ddysgwyd yn wythnos 7, yr wythnos hon byddwn yn canolbwyntio ar ffurf silindr.

Wythnos 9- Troelli a'r Camau Terfynol. Esboniad a phrofiad ymarferol o waith troelli ar yr olwyn llestri a chwblhau gwaith i safon uchel. Gosod Dolenni.

Wythnos 10- Creu mowldiau a Dull Castio Slip. Esboniad o sut i greu mowld plaster. Cyflwyniad a gwaith ymarferol castio slip â mowld. Twtio a gorffen y gwaith.

Wythnos 11- Egwyddorion gwydro, profi a'u rhoi ar waith. Gwaith gwydro yn cael ei wneud gan ddefnyddio technegau addurno fel monoprint a throsglwyddo meinwe drwy brintio, sgraffito a brithwaith.

Wythnos 12- Y Gwydro Terfynol, y Prosesau Tanio a Chyflwyno. Newidiadau a sesiwn gwydro terfynol. Sgwrs ymarferol am yr arferion gorau i danio odynau. Cyflwyniad o'ch gwaith i gyd a wnaed a thrafod y cynllun ar gyfer cyfleoedd i gael mynediad i'r stiwdio am 6 mis.
