FAQs
How do I know which category to enter?
The age category will be defined by the riders age on the day of the event.
Participants older than 15 years may choose to enter Amateur or Elite but not both.
Amateur category is generally defined as a rider that is already proficient in either park or street riding. Rider's with "flow" or "product" sponsorship deals may enter amateur. The contest is not aimed at adult beginners.
The Women's Park category is for women over 15 years of all riding abilities. As this category grows, more divisions will be made.
Elite is generally defined as a sponsored rider or a rider earning an income from either park or street riding.
Rider's may not enter amateur if they have already entered elite in the same year.
Do I need to enter all of the events or how many should I enter?
You may enter as little or as many as you would like. Each event will have limited numbers in each category due to time restrictions. At Rounds 5 & 6 more spaces will be in each category.
Only the Elite categories will be following an accumulative points system. Whereby, their best 4 results from the 6 round series will be totalled for overall results.
Amateur & Youth categories will be stand alone contests at each round.
Youth 4 -7 years: All riders will receive a product hamper and the most stand out rider/s will receive a medal/s.
Youth 8 -11 years Male: All riders will receive a product hamper. Top 3 places will receive gold, silver and bronze medals.
Youth 8-14 Female: All riders will receive a product hamper. Top 3 places will receive gold, silver and bronze medals.
Youth 12 -14 Male: Top 3 riders will receive product hampers and gold, silver and bronze medals.
Amateur Park 15+ and Amateur Street 13+: Top 3 riders will receive product hampers. Top 3 places will receive gold, silver and bronze medals.
Elite Men Park: 1st £500, 2nd £250, 3rd £150 (per round)
Women Park: 1st £500, 2nd £250, 3rd £150 (per round)
Elite Men Street: 1st £500, 2nd £250, 3rd £150 (per round)

How much does it cost to enter each Round of the Backyard Jam Series?

A rider ticket also allows you to ride the park for the whole day (except areas that are being used for the competition)

Can I enter on the day of the competition?
No, emrties will close prior to the event taking place.
How much does it cost to spectate at a Backyard Jam?
Entry is free for spectators and you don't need a ticket. However, space will be limited at some rounds and therefore riders/guardians will take priority entering the building. Some venues require spectators and riders to register online to be allowed access to the building. Please note if you wish to bring a bike into the park you will need to buy a non-competing rider ticket.
Are there additional booking or transaction fees for the tickets?
Yes, Eventbrite will charge a small fee for processing the booking. This will vary depending on how much your category entry fee is.
Do you offer refunds if I can no longer attend the event?
Yes, if you cancel within 7 days of the event however we are only able to refund the price of the ticket and not the Eventbrite booking fee.
Yes, there will be two medics on site as well as a medical response vehicle or an ambulance.
What other facilities are available on site?
Free off-street parking.
Café/Restaurant serving hot food, snacks, hot drinks, cold drinks.

Will any of the rounds award UCI Points?
Yes, we are currently planning for Round 6 to be a C1 and a CN (National Championships) competition.
