Round Willow Basket Workshop

Spend a lovely creative day learning how to construct a round willow basket. If you are a total beginner and new to the world of willow weaving, you willl be weaving an egg basket or a berry basket with a handle (like the ones in the picture). If you have woven before, you can maybe try a bread basket or fruit basket, with different types of weave and a more complicated border.

Jilly Greig is an East Lothian based full time willow basket maker, and she teaches beginners and improvers in many workshops throughout East Lothian and Edinburgh.

Tools and materials provided, although if you could bring a large towel to keep your willow damp in that would be perfect. Wear old clothes. Light refreshments available. Bring your own pack lunch.

Parking is free, in the grounds of the village hall, or on the street beside it. Car is necessary as there is no regular public transport to East Saltoun.
