Roundtable Discussion on Intergenerationality and Activism

Co-organised by the University of Manchester’s Sexuality Summer School 2025 in partnership with George House Trust, celebrating 40 years of supporting people with HIV in Manchester.
Speakers: Marc Thompson (Pioneering HIV activist, London), Chloe Cousins (Rainbow Noir and Social Justice Manager, Manchester Museum), Robert Broughton (Peer Support Worker, George House Trust) and Agatha Phiri (HIV Activist/Agatha's Space, Oldham).
Our panel will explore how generations come together (or sometimes fail to) in the context of feminist, anti-racist, queer and trans activism. We’ll discuss how knowledge and creative practices about activism in the past have shaped current political agendas and collaborations.
Join us for an evening of discussion, followed by the opportunity to relax and socialise in SISTER's gorgeous cafe area. Food and drink will be provided.
The Sexuality Summer School is a week-long event consisting of seminars and workshops for 40 postgraduate students, alongside a public events programme open to all.
