Building on our various CRPD stakeholder engagement events and meetings to date, we would like to invite you to attend a roundtable event which would:
- summarise opportunities to engage with the UN Committee and the NI Executive ahead of, and at, the ‘list of Issues’ and ‘formal examination’ stages;
- provide a reminder of key issues identified by research and stakeholders as priorities for attention in Northern Ireland.
- share an overview of the key points to be included in the UK Independent Mechanism submission to the List of Issues process.
We would also like to take the opportunity to hear your views on the implications arising from the recent report of the ‘Inquiry concerning the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland carried out by the Committee under article 6 of the Optional Protocol to the Convention’ undertaken by the UN Committee for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, which dealt with the impact of Welfare Reform.
DATE & VENUE: The event will take place from 11.00am – 2.00pm on Tuesday 6 December in the Board Room at Equality House, 7-9 Shaftesbury Square, Belfast.
IMNI have organised the roundtable to coincide the International Day for Persons with Disabilities on 3 December.
