Event description

Description

'Promoting health and wellbeing through public libraries' is a project in colloboration with the Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland, NHS Scotland and SLIC funded by the Public Libraries Improvement Fund.

The project aims to develop, test and deliver four workshops and a training resource for public library staff to increase their knowledge about self management of long term conditions and health literacy enabling them to feel confident offering support and information to people about their health and wellbeing.

Over the past three months we have been consulting with people with long term conditions, staff working in health and social care and public library staff who are interested in the potential support public libraries can offer and using this information to help shape potential training resources.

This roundtable discussion is open to Heads of Libraries (or their represented contact) and NHS Librarians who are keen to discuss the first outline of the training and support the shaping of the resource.

*Please note: As spaces are limited, we are looking for one person from each locality to attend.

If you have any questions please contact Marianne, Project Lead by email at marianne.brennan@alliance-scotland.org.uk or call 0141 404 0231.
