What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Metrolink Tram

A fast and frequent Metrolink tram service runs to several stops that are within short walking distance of the stadium.

The closest stop is ‘Old Trafford’. From here, a simple, five-minute walk will take you to the ground. Trams depart from Manchester city centre every six minutes and the journey takes approximately 15 minutes. You can find the ‘Old Trafford’ stop on the Bury-Altrincham line.

The Trafford Bar, Exchange Quay, Salford Quays and MediaCityUK Metrolink stops are all 15-20 minutes’ walk from the stadium.

Metrolink operates a zonal fare ticket system and all the stops close to Old Trafford are located in zone 2. For journeys from the city centre to the stadium, you will require a zone 1+2 ticket.

Metrolink passengers benefit from an easy-to-use contactless payment system – enabling them to touch in at the start of a journey and out at the end using a contactless bank card or another contactless-enabled payment device, such as a phone or watch.

Tickets must be purchased before travel, with ticket machines located on every platform at all Metrolink stops.

Manchester is well served by rail, with services running into the stations at Manchester Piccadilly, Oxford Road and Victoria. Delegates can easily connect to onward trams from Victoria and Piccadilly.

Be sure to plan ahead and check train times on the National Rail website before you travel.

Please note that trains do not run to the Manchester United FC Halt station. The nearest rail station is Trafford Park, which is approximately a 25-minute walk from the ground.

Frequent bus services run to Old Trafford from Manchester city centre and further afield.

The 53, 79, 250, 255, 256, 263 and x50 services all stop close to the stadium and take between 20 and 30 minutes from Manchester city centre.

You can plan your bus journey with TfGM.
