Discussion to be chaired by Zoe Williams of The Guardian
City Airport occupies a large and valuable site in the heart of London, but most of its benefits are enjoyed by a wealthy minority. What if we could reclaim it and build a new sustainable neighbourhood that delivers real prosperity for all those living in and around it?
We invite you to the launch of Royal Docks Revival, a new report from the New Economics Foundation, HACAN East and the Momentum Project. We’ll be exploring:
- The case for closing London City Airport: There is growing evidence to show that London no longer needs City Airport, and that the airport is blocking the healthy, sustainable and socially just development of the Royal Docks area.
- The need for sustainable, stable and liveable cities around the world: We present a vision, compiled in collaboration with local people and urban design experts, of what a future-proof Royal Docks would look like.
Come along for what promises to be a lively discussion of the issues
