Join Christopher Joll for an evening lecture at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, discussing his research on 'The Jubilee to Beat All Jubilees'
About this event
The Royal Hospital Chelsea will host Christopher Joll for the second instalment of the 2022 Governor’s Lecture Series. The evening will take place in the Grade I listed State Apartments, with a drinks reception prior to the event.
In his talk, Christopher Joll will focus on the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1897. This involved the largest parade of mounted troops ever seen in London.
Christopher Joll studied at Oxford University before entering the RMA Sandhurst. Joll then went on to spend six years as an officer in The Life Guards. Since leaving the Army in 1975, Joll has been involved in devising and managing Royal and national fundraising pageants for military charities. He has also published a biography, four historical works and a fifteen-volume military-historical/action-adventure series. When not writing or directing, Joll is a guest lecturer for Noble Caledonia and Viking Cruises, a video podcaster on YouTube, a Trustee of The Art Fund Prize for Museums, and the Regimental Historian of the Household Cavalry.
