About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

Come along and receive a presentation about becoming a Royal Marines Reservist. We will brief you on all aspects of what it takes to become a part time Royal Marines Commando and how you can earn your coveted Green Beret. You’ll be able to speak face to face to Royal Marines Commandos , both Regular serving and Reservists, alongside recruits from our current Reserve training intake here in Nottingham You will find out how the Royal Marines Reserves support the Regular Royal Marines, Royal Navy and wider defence. You will be provided all the information about the recruitment process, what it takes to undertake training and then pass the Royal Marines Commando Course. We will provide an insight into both the physical and mental challenges of achieving such a high standard of soldiering whilst balancing that with other demands such as work, studies and family life. You’ll be able to ask questions, see some of the equipment in use and have a demonstration in some of the physical challenges you’ll have to master should you choose to join us. Royal Marines training is demanding, but really rewarding; you’ll experience camaraderie and visit places that you’ve never been, whilst allowing you to develop new transferable skills which will benefit your full time career. This is your chance to understand what life as a Royal Marines Reservist looks like and what it can offer you. Dress for the evening will be casual. You will need identification and a notepad and pen to take notes. Parking is available on site.
