Description

Want to keep fit, make new friends and travel the world in your spare time? Get a taste of life as a reservist at our free Royal Naval Reserve Experience on 9 March 2019. Spaces are limited, so make sure you register your interest in plenty of time.

As well as learning about the different branches and specialisms of the Naval Reserve, you’ll get the chance to:

  • Handle the latest operational weapons

  • Get to grips with life rafts and sea survival aids

  • Enjoy an introduction to firefighting, Royal Navy style

  • Try on the latest sea survival suits

At the end of the day, you’ll have the opportunity to mingle with both regular and reserve members of the Royal Navy and get the inside story on service life.

What you’ll need

You will need to bring along photographic identification and report to the main gate no later than 9.50am in order gain access to the event. Under-18s will need to be accompanied by an adult.

As some activities are outdoors, we’d recommend bringing warm clothing, a waterproof jacket and flat, comfortable shoes.

Lunch and light refreshments will be provided.

About the Royal Naval Reserve

The Royal Naval Reserve is the volunteer force of the Royal Navy. With a basic commitment of 24 days a year, you’ll take part in training exercises, defence drills and adventure activities, often overseas. You could even be mobilised for an operational tour of duty.

You'll develop skills that will benefit your career; experience adventures you couldn't have anywhere else; and serve your country and community. All while maintaining your day job.
