About this event
These are the exciting projects we’re planning for 2025 - two short projects and two longer projects, spread throughout the year. All four are underway an except for VE / VJ Day Celebrations are closed to new participants.
VE / VJ Day 80th Anniversary Celebrations. Places still available. This will run over the week of 5th to 8th May (VE Day) and around 15 August (VJ Day) - with an end date in September. But some "events" have already started and other are running for several months. This would be similar to the Jubilee and Coronation mini-projects. For more information, contact David at london@rps.org
London’s Architecture. Full - sold out. This is planned to run for three months over May, June and July. This could include, for example, juxtaposing old and new, London’s historic buildings, derelict buildings or disappearing London buildings. Sign-ups are now closed but for more information, contact Joanne at greenlondon@rps.org
Patterns of London. Full - sold out. This is planned to run for a month over June. This could include patterns of buildings, London’s icons, or abstract images, for example. For more information, contact Judy at londonro2@rps.org
Watery London. Full - sold out. This is planned to run for three months from July until September, coinciding with the Totally Thames Festival. This would include London’s waterways, ponds, reservoirs, or lakes, and the photography could cover: - scenes of people living or using the water; abstract images; landscape or cityscape. For more information, contact Joanne at greenlondon@rps.org
Hopefully, there is something here for everyone!
Please sign up for VE / VJ Day 80th Anniversary Celebrations if this interests you - the other three projects are full. VE Day has passed, but VJ Day 80th is Friday 15th August - and commemorative displays and events are running through the Summer.
We have had kick off zooms for all four projects and have also started to hold progress zooms. We will shortly have a progress zoom foe VE Day which will also be a kick off Zoom for VJ Day and any other ongoing commemorative events.
We have been discussing options for the outputs of the projects - but until the scope and variety of each photographer’s submissions are known, the exact output are still open. We are thinking of a “Projects Exhibition” (or exhibitions) in late Autumn / winter this year - and possibly photobooks to record a selection of images of each project.
